The Ethiopian National Project (ENP),
Thursday, June 11 at 4pm
@ Media Central, 8 Rav Kook Street, Jerusalem.
Come learn about an under-represented segment of Israel's population!
On June 30, ENP's Ethiopian Cultural Event will take place showcasing both Ethiopian traditional culture and the activities of the Ethiopian National Project. The event will include performances by well-known Ethiopian-Israeli singers, dancers and musicians. These performers will be joined by many of the Ethiopian-Israeli youth involved in ENP programs who will perform song and dance pieces that they learned in their activities at ENP Youth Outreach Centers all over Israel.
The Ethiopian National Project (ENP) is a unique endeavor that unites organizations assisting the Ethiopian-Israeli community, in true cooperation and partnership with the Ethiopian community in Israel itself. ENP focuses its efforts in achieving a quality of opportunity for Ethiopian youth. ENP's programs include after-school scholastic assistance, neighborhood outreach centers for youth-at-risk and workshops designed to empower parents and community lay leadership. Today, ENP's initiative is operating in 26 cities.
Guests at Media Central's TGIT will be: ENP representatives Dr. Nigist Mengesha, Director of ENP; Tracey Shipley Amar; Ambachew Reda, Jerusalem Coordinator; and teens from ENP scholastic assistance and youth outreach center programs.
