Tisha B'Av (the 9th of the Hebrew month Av), the saddest day on the Jewish calendar, will be commemorated on July 30th, 2009 with fasting, prayers, and, for thousands, a walk around the Old City walls. Rabbi Chaim Ritzman, one of the heads ofThe Temple Institute, a Jerusalem project researching and preserving the heritage of the two Jewish Temples, will speak about the importance of the Temple in Jewish religious thought and history, and address a few contemporary issues relating to the Temple Mount, archeology and regional politics.
