November 18, 2009
Lod and Ramla Field Trip

Wednesday, November 18th -- 12:30pm - 8pm

Some of Israel's mixed cities are examples of coexistence while others are known for sporadic outbursts of social protest and violence.

We will speak with Ramla community leaders and activists who will discuss the fragile Jewish-Arab coexistence.

We will also meet with Ramla Mayor Yoel Lavie and Buthina Dabit, Director of NIF-Shatil's Mixed Cities Project.

Later in the day the Lod Community Foundation takes us on an Open Houses tour and introduces us to residents. We will also take part in a guided walk through Lod's Old City to hear about its historic past and promising future.

RSVP: Please use this web form.

You need a "fixer", or you've got 2 free hours & want to see the 'hot spots' in Jerusalem.... You're on deadline, and you need a quote, a photo, a quick interview or a little background - but lost that note with the guy's number.... You need to get to Bethlehem or Sderot - but your car's in the shop.. You just need a quiet place to log on and file the story - but your Internet connection's dead....
