Gaza Border Tour
MediaCentral is pleased to invite members of the foreign press on a field tour to The Gaza Border after the IDF Cast Lead Operation. Wednesday February 3, 8am-3pm. Israeli security and defense experts are hoping that the recent successful testing of the Iron Dome defense system will bring quiet to the residents of southern Israel. During our tour we will meet with a foremost expert on Israel's missile defense systems and hear from local residents how the 21-day Cast Lead military campaign has affected their lives. This unique field tour will include: Briefing by an IDF officer at a strategic lookout point near the border with Gaza Tour of Kibbutz Nir Oz on the Gaza border and a meeting with some of the residents. Briefing on the Iron Dome and Arrow Missile Defense Systems There were thousands of Palestinian-fired rocket attacks on southern Israel in the years leading up to the IDF Cast Lead Operation in 2009. And while the number of attacks has dropped significantly, kassams and mortars are still fired into the region from the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. A fee of 100 Shekels will cover transportation, speakers, lunch and a light supper. Meet at 8am at MediaCentral offices, 8 HaRav Kook.
