Tensions are high near the Temple Mount/ Haram esh-Sharif as Palestinian leaders are calling for a Day of Rage. Palestinians are protesting the security measures Israel implemented in response to the terror attack this past Friday.
MK Taleb Abu Arar (Joint List), disapproves of the security measures and said, “The Jews have no rights whatsoever to this mosque – it is for Muslims only. We will not accept being checked every time we want to get inside.”
Israeli MK, Yehuda Glick issued a joint statement in response, “The extremist Muslims who desecrate the sanctity of the Temple Mount, Judaism’s holiest place, with their blood have no right to be there. Therefore, Jerusalem Police Chief Yoram Halevi’s decision to close the mount and not to allow the Muslims to carry out theirFriday prayers there was a correct one.”
The tour included:
The foreign press spokesman for the Israel Police, Micky Rosenfeld
Prominent members of the Muslim religious authority
Midday Muslim prayer services outside Lions Gate
Member of Knesset Yehuda Glick
