The upcoming Iranian presidential elections are Friday, May 19. The primary issue in Iran is internal economics. The election result will affect the conflagration in Syria, relations with Sunni world, the war against ISIS, and the ties to the Western world. In a phone conference, Prof. Meir Litvak will analyze the causes and potential effects of the Iranian election.
Prof. Meir Litvak currently serves as the director of the Alliance Center for Iranian Studies at Tel Aviv University. He wrote numerous articles and books on modern Shi’a and Iranian history, as well as on modern Islamic movements. He received his doctorate from Harvard University in 1991.
