The Judean Desert, home to Jews and Bedouins alike, is a rich place, full of history, beauty and challenges.
The village of Mitzpe Yericho lies on the cliffs at the edge of the Judean Desert, overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. The community largely depends on tourism to the nearby vicinity, while the Bedouins of the Judean desert have built an eco-tourism initiative to support their community, which includes Sahari’s guided trips, full moon and daytime hikes through the ancient shepherding routes, through the eyes of Bedouin youth.
We presented the Bedouin and the Jewish perspectives, who thrive on tourism and adventure in desert.
