In recent years, Israel has become one of the leading countries in the world in the field of digital vehicles. BMW recently announced that it joined the race for a self driving car and will use Israel’s Mobileye Accident Prevention technology. The National Fuel Choices Initiative was established in order to promote and coordinate the different efforts in the field.
The Initiative’s mission is to serve as a catalyst for the reduction of global dependence on crude oil, by establishing Israel as a center of knowledge and industry in the field of fuel alternatives and smart transportation. Currently there are more than 500 Israeli startupsworking on smart mobility and alternative fuels solutions and more than 200 research groups in universities across the country, which aspire to promote Israel’s ambitious goal of reducing the country’s oil consumption by 60% by 2025. The program has cooperation agreements with the governments of Germany, USA, France, Canada, China and international energy agencies.
The annual Fuel Choices Summit hosted startups, enterprises, financiers, policymakers, business leaders, and innovators from around the world for a guided global dialogue about smart mobility and alternative fuels.
