With less than four hours until the midnight deadline, it seems that the never-ending political stalemate and months of failed attempts to form a coalition will lead to unprecedented third elections in less than a year.
What will the next couple of months look like? Could there be a clear-cut winner? Will a coalition be formed or could Israel be heading towards a forth round of elections?
Political expert Prof. Gideon Rahat will discuss the unbelievable turn of events, the expected campaigns and possible outcomes.
Gideon Rahat is a Full Professor in the Department of Political Science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research fields are comparative politics and Israeli politics, including political parties, electoral reform, the personalization of politics and candidate selection methods. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Israel Democracy Institute.
