Israel’s three-day Operation Breaking Dawn against Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) has ended with a ceasefire that was brokered by Egypt.
Notably, the Gaza-based Hamas terrorist organization did not join PIJ in its latest fight against Israel.
How will the relations between Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas be affected? Will the operation against PIJ lead to an escalation of violence in the West Bank? Will Egypt be able to implement the ceasefire conditions? Will the truce hold?
Gaith al-Omari will analyze and evaluate the latest developments.
