Major General (res.) Uzi Dayan is the former head of the National Security Council and has advocated a ground operation in Gaza ever since Operation Protective Edge started. He has said that Israel has been battling against “arms of an octopus” – the tunnels, mortars, rockets and anti-tank missiles of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). He told Times of Israel recently that we should now “go for the head.”
Dayan will talk about the long-term prospects for a ceasefire in Gaza, and analyze the strategic and geopolitical options for Israel.
