Ashalim Solar Thermal Power Station

October 24, 2017PAST EVENT

Negev Energy’s Ashalim project is planned to be the largest energy project in Israel and one of the largest renewable energy projects in the world. Set to be completed in July 2018, this plant is estimated to generate about 1.5% of the country’s total energy needs and or a city the size of Haifa.

The Israeli Government intends to generate 10% of the country’s electricity needs from renewable energy sources by 2020 and 17% by 2030. Towards that goal, Negev Energy is building this thermo-solar power plant in the Negev Desert near Ashalim Village. Negev Energy is one of four projects implementing the national scheme to erect four different solar energy projects based on three different innovative technologies. Negev Energy is a 50% subsidiary of the Shikun & Binui Group, a leading player in the Israeli infrastructure arena who operates in approximately 20 countries in 4 continents.

The tour will include:

  • Briefing with Didi Paz, CEO, Negev Energy
  • Tour of the facilities and an overlooking vantage point with Engineer, Piter Migalovich, and Didi Paz
  • Lunch
