Coming Home: Life in Captivity and Multi-Hostage Families with Zohar Avigdori

November 28, 2023PAST EVENT

The “Iron Swords” war broke out in the early morning hours of October 7—fifty years and one day from the start of the 1973 Yom Kippur War. The number of Jews killed was the most on one day since the Holocaust and Israelis have witnessed atrocities that they never thought would be repeated. MediaCentral was the first to help foreign journalists in the country get updated on what exactly was going on with a Zoom conference just hours after the war erupted. We have continued to follow the resulting military operations and have assisted the more than one thousand reporters who have been sent to the region to cover the events.

Nov. 28: Coming Home: Life in Captivity and Multi-Hostage Families with Zohar Avigdori

An extended family from Kibbutz Be’eri — Shoshan Haran (67), her daughter Adi Shoham (38) and son-in-law Tal Shoham (38), and their children Yahel (3), and Naveh (8), along with Sharon Avigdori (52), and her daughter, Noam Avigdori (12), were all kidnapped on October 7.

All of them were released except for Tal, who is still held hostage in Gaza.
Zohar Avigdori, Sharon Avigdori’s brother-in-law and Noam’s uncle, tells us his family’s story.

Their important perspectives will be followed by a discussion about the hostages’ lives in captivity. The Hostages Forum will, for the first time, disclose some official translated testimonies of released hostages.
