Maj. Gen. (res.) Yaakov Amidror Analyzing Syrian Developments

April 11, 2018PAST EVENT
This past Monday, US President Trump said at a meeting of military leaders and national security advisers that he would decide how to respond to the suspected use of chemical weapons in Syria “in the next day or two” and that the United States had “a lot of options militarily”. Trump has said that Assad and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin may have to “pay a big price” for the alleged action. Yesterday, Russia vetoed a proposal to set up an investigation into chemical weapons use on civilians in Syria.

Additionally Russia and the Assad regime accused Israel of striking a military airport in Syria on Monday where Iran is known to operate, reportedly killing 14  people. Israeli officials declined to confirm or deny if Israel had conducted the airstrike.

Maj. Gen. (res.) Yaakov Amidror will analyze the situation and expected scenarios.

Maj. Gen. (res.) Yaakov Amidror was the Former National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Israel and the Head of the National Security Council. He was the militarysecretary to the Minister of Defense, director of the Intelligence Analysis Division in Military Intelligence, and chief intelligence officer of the Northern Command. He is the author of three books on intelligence and military strategy.
