Post-debate Analysis: The Middle East and US-Israel Relations With Danny Ayalon
The third and last US presidential debate between contenders Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump took place on Wednesday, October 19th and was broadcast simultaneously at 4am Israel time (Thursday morning). The third debate contained segments regarding US foreign policy in general and regarding the Middle East and Israel in particular.
Israel has always been a focal component in US foreign policy debate. Some say the gap between the current candidates’ stance on US policy toward Israel is one of the more dramatic in recent American elections.
Danny Ayalon analyzed Trump and Clinton’s policies toward the Middle East and Israel, compared it to the current administration’s policy and tried to explain how the Israeli government perceives the candidates’ approaches.
Danny Ayalon was the Former Deputy Foreign Minister of Israel, and former Ambassador of Israel to the United States.
